"You don't need to do this Erik, you hardly knew the man!" a woman said grabbing her sons hand. "It's a matter of honor mother." Erik said

"He left us Erik, he turned his back with no intention of returning." Helga said wiping a tear from her eye.

"You don't know that mother, he might've returned had he geen given a chance."

"Erik I loved your father, but he hid himself from me I didn't even know his real name until I saw the news story about him." Helga said.

"Well to me he will always be Erik Stoller." Erik said

"And to the rest of the world Erik, he will always be known as Hans Gruber."

Die Hard: Vendetta

Jack sat up on the stage, the hot L.A. sun beating down on him. Looking around he saw his mother Holly, and his sister Lucy but his hear sank as his father was nowhere to be seen. "Officer Jack Gennero." The Commissioner announced from the podium. Jack shook himself from his funk and walked over to accept his badge and gun, graduating from the academy and ready to join the L.A.P.D.

Jack stood under a mighty elm tree watching the other graduates pass by. "Top of your class huh kid, trying to show up your old man?" Jack turned around and sighed as he stared into his fathers soulful yet weiry eyes. "When'd you get here?" he asked a little hurt."

"I've been here the whole time, I stuck to the shadows." John said.

"You had a reserved seat up front with Lucy and....oh ok." Jack said

"Yeah oh!" John said.

"She still misses you dad, you do know that right?" Jack said.

"I miss her too, but the thing about cops is we don't make good fathers, that's one thing you got to watch out for Johnny...I mean Jack." John said.
"Dad you were a great father to me." Jack said

"Then why do you go by Jack Generro and not John McClane Jr?"

"It's not because I hate you dad, it's because I want my police career to be seen as mine not John McClane's. I can do that as Jack Generro." Jack said.

"I never asked for the things that happened in my life, I just wanted to be a good husband a good father and a good cop." John said

"Hey Jack, we're going to celebrate!" a young man shouted.

"Is that...?"

"Yeah that's Al Powell Jr." Jack said

"So he followed after his old man as well?" John asked

"Yeah he even chose us for the new squad he's heading up, the MCU. He didn't tell you?" Jack asked.

"I'm sure he just forgot." John said

As Jack ran off with his friends, John spotted an old friend.

"Hey pal, got a twinkie?" he asked

"John hey man welcome back to LA, hows life in the NYPD?" Al asked

"A Pain in my ass Al, a pain in my ass."

"So you see Jack?" Al asked

"Yeah he says he's gonna be part of your MCU?" John asked.

"Oh yeah I was gonna tell you partner, but it wasn't official until now the brass took one look at his scores and signed him up cold." Al said

"Yeah he's a good kid." John said

"A good kid John, hr's a great kid. He was first in his class in hostage negotiation, firearms training, hand to hand combat and he speaks two languages." Al said

"Two languages...what?" John asked

"Yeah Spanish and Chinese fluently." Al said

"Not to mention his masters in Criminal behavior as well as his bachelors in criminal law." Al said
"Why is it you know more about my kid than I do?" John asked.

"Daddy?" Lucy shouted running over.

"Hi Uncle Al." she added.

"Nice of you to show up John." Holly said disgusted.

"You missed Jack he just left." Holly said.

"After talking to me." John said.
"Well I gotta move on, see you around partner?" Al said

"You bet." John said

Holly leered at John walking hand in hand with his daughter.

"She mad at me?" John asked leering back at his ex-wife.

"Oh yeah...but in reality she misses you." Lucy said

"That's what johnny...I mean Jack said." John said

"How's Matt?" John asked

"He's on assignment in the FBI's White Hat division, keeping America safe from the next Thomas Gabriel." Lucy said.

"How are you with all that Luce, still having nightmares?" John asked.

"Every one and a while, but whenever I get scared I pull this photo from my purse."

Lucy handed him a 3X5 photo of Thomas Gabriel, on a cold steel table of an autopsy room.

"Geez Lucy that's kinda dark!" John said.

"But seeing this tells me he's gone daddy." Lucy said

"Come on Lucy I have to go to work, I'll drop you off on the way." Holly said

"What about daddy, you beed a ride?" Lucy asked.

"I took a cab but I have a friend whose coming to pick me up." John said

"It's not Cappy Roberts is it?" Lucy asked

"What wrong with Cappy?" John askes

"He's 90 daddy!" Lucy said
