Daybreak: Chapter Two
Day Two: Dèja VùTrevor ran as fast as his legs could carry him, and he arrived at Professor McClure's class with minutes to spare. "Cutting it close Mr. Lee?" Professor McClure asked. "Yeah sorry my alarm clock..." he stopped and again drifted away. "You're late Mr. Lee!" Professor McClure had said before. "Never mind sir." Trevor said smiling. "Fine Mr. Lee, take your seat." Trevor walked in and sat down. "This test will cover all that we have learned this semester, it counts towards 70% of your final grade so take it seriously." The Professor opened his desk drawer and pulled out his stopwatch. "you have one hour, no more no less." he looked at the clock. "begin...now!" Trevor opened his booklet and started to read. "Wait a minute." Trevor said in a low voice. "What's the matter T?" Scott the guy who sat behind him asked. "Didn't we take this test already?" Trevor asked. "No man I wish, it's kickin' my ass!" Trevor shook his head and returned to the test. "Pencils down." Professor Carl McClure said. Trevor scribbled the last part of his essay and closed the booklet. "How'd it go baby?" Jenna asked. "Really good, it's like I took it before." "That's what happens when you pay attention in class Mr. Lee, things stick." Professor McClure said grabbing the booklet. "Get out of here kids, have fun teachers orders!" Jenna smiled. "Yeah there's a party at Delta." Trevor felt himself fall away again. "Her blood on you and a knife in your hand... what happened she dump your ass?" "Not feeling much like a party Jenna, just gonna stay in today." Jenna smiled. "OK baby, we'll order a pizza, maybe watch Pay per View?" Trevor smiled. "Then what happened?" Officer Johnson asked. "I woke up...that's it!" Trevor said slamming the table. "You were found standing over her with a gun kid!" Johnson said. "Explain that?" Trevor slammed his head on the desk. "I can't." "I understand kid, I do." Detective Spooner said. "You got drunk, things go out of hand and you lost control." Trevor broke down. "That's not what happened, we ordered a pizza, a little Pay per View then..." "Then what?" Johnson asked. "I remember nothing until the cops kicked in the door." Trevor said. "That's it take him to holding!" Johnson said. Trevor walked with the officer to the holding cells, just as the first rays of the sun rose above the hills.... "Dude don't you have finals today?" |
